Linda Hyde

Linda Hyde cares passionately about issues in her local community. A North Petherton resident for over 30 years after moving from London, she spent 40 years in frontline social work, mainly with children and families and most recently alongside partner organisations in the Somerset Youth Offending Team.

Since retiring from paid work Linda has focused her skills and core values into assisting her local community and is particularly concerned about maintaining essential services during these times of awful austerity. She is a North Petherton Town Councillor, active in identifying local needs, including saving the local library from closure, extending the facilities at our playing fields and questioning whether all these new building developments are necessary.

Linda is a governor at North Petherton Primary School and has also jointly set up a regular coffee morning for elderly residents, who could otherwise be isolated. Meanwhile Linda continues to act as a volunteer advocate/supporter for some of our most vulnerable children. Linda wants to put her caring skills to good use by becoming your District Councillor.
