NHS Review shows a large funding gap under Tories.

Labour has set out a new plan for Britain’s future, a plan that works for ordinary families, rewarding the hard work they do and saving the NHS they rely on.

The Tories can’t build a better future for working people because they stand up only for a privileged few. With the NHS going backwards and a recovery, which works just for a few, working people can’t afford five more years of David Cameron.

You can’t trust Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats. They broke their promises and have been too weak to stand up to the Tories.

UKIP can’t stand for working people: they’re more Tory than the Tories, a party made up of Tory people, promoting Tory policies, bankrolled by Tory donors.

Tory spending plans attacked

Cllr Mick Lerry said: “A major NHS review published today has warned that Tory spending plans for the NHS would leave a large funding gap and would not be enough to prevent an NHS crisis in the next Parliament”.

This follows a warning this week by the Conservative Chair of the Health Select Committee that a continuation of current Conservative plans could lead to “top-ups and charges” for NHS treatment.

“Labour has already made a commitment to raise an extra £2.5 billion a year for the NHS through a Mansion Tax on the highest-value properties over £2million, tackling tax avoidance and a new levy on tobacco companies”, says Mick.

David Cameron was challenged by Ed Miliband yesterday to match Labour’s additional £2.5billion for the NHS and failed to do so.

Cllr Mick Lerry said: “The review also endorses key planks of Labour’s NHS plan. Including full integration of NHS and social care and a greater role for Health & Well being Boards. Better access to primary care through recruiting more GPs. Faster access to cancer tests, as set out by Ed Miliband last weekend. A stronger focus on public health with action on food and tobacco. New rights and support for carers and a shift towards a preventative NHS with mental health care at the centre”.

Cameron is responsible for NHS crisis

David Cameron is responsible for the crisis in our NHS David Cameron wasted £3 billion and caused chaos with a damaging NHS reorganisation he promised wouldn’t happen, that has led to over 4,000 NHS staff being laid off and then rehired, many on six-figure salaries. His reforms put private profits before patient care, tying hospitals up in competition law. Cuts to elderly care are sending older people to A&E and making it harder to get the care they need at home.

“Labour rescued the NHS after years of Tory neglect before. We’ll do it again,” says Mick.
