Labour Party deputy leadership candidate Stella Creasy will be in Bridgwater on Monday 27th July to speak at an open meeting in the Town Hall at the invitation of the Town’s Labour Leader Cllr Brian Smedley. Stella, who is shadow consumer affairs minister, has already been nominated for Deputy Leader by the Somerton & Frome constituency party (along with Jeremy Corbyn for Leader) with the Bridgwater & West Somerset CLP due to nominate on Wednesday.
The meeting will be at 1230 in the Town Hall Council Chamber.
Cllr Smedley said “Bridgwater Town Council is Labour controlled and with 14 out of the 16 members coming from the Labour Party it is the strongest Labour authority in the South West of England with a 90%+ representation yet we’re always overlooked by MP’s visiting the region. We therefore welcome the fact that Stella has agreed to come to see us and of course we would extend that invite to all candidates.”
