Labour Councillors WISE award

IMAG0088Taking shelter from the elements on Forest Hill, South Ward Labour Town Councillor Terry Ledlie presented Local Girl Guide, 16 year old Lucy Taylor with a cheque for £100, donated by Yeovil Labour party to help her on her way to raising the £700 she needs.

This money will go towards WISE (Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England) where she and other specially chosen Girl Guides will represent their areas in the four capitals. The aim of this trip is to grow international relations, provide programme opportunities and build new friendships. All of this experience will be taken by Lucy to her local Guides group in Yeovil. Lucy hopes to gain a sense of other cultures and customs and will take part in a community project in London during the trip.

Yeovil By-Election 16th Feb

Also present were Lucy’s Mother Julie, her father Graham and the two Labour Candidates for South Ward for Yeovil’s Town council by-election on February the 16th. The candidates are Martin Bailey & Joshua Tuck.
Terry was very pleased to be the first person to sponsor Lucy, who contacted him for help as her local councillor, and hopes that more people will give generously to Lucy to enable her to take part in (W.I.S.E) If you want to help Lucy, she has since set up a just giving page: crowdfunding.justgiving.com/lucy-taylor
