On Thursday 3rd October there will be a By-Election in the Taunton Deane district ward of Halcon following the resignation of the Lib Dem councillor .
The Labour Party candidate is Anna Lynch. Anna is a former Councillor and Deputy Mayor in Tower Hamlets. From Taunton originally she moved back to Somerset a couple of years ago and currently works as a community nurse.

Labour has a strong chance of winning this ward. Halcon is one of the most deprived wards in the South West and the sort of place where Labour has traditionally done well. We have a strong candidate in Anna, who compares favourably with a very young Lib Dem candidate. There are also Tory and Ukip candidates to split the right wing vote.
