Labour candidate stands down on medical advice

Martin Jevon Labour PPC for Yeovil has been forced to stand down following medical advice

It is with deep regret that Yeovil constituency Labour party has to announce that our chosen candidate for the 2015 general election has had to stand down on medical grounds. It is unfortunate but Martin Jevon requires back surgery and will be laid up for several months in the New Year, making it impossible for him to actively campaign in the lead up to May’s election.

The Chairman of Yeovil Labour party Joe Conway said “We all wish Martin a speedy recovery and thank him for all the good work he has carried out on behalf of the local Labour Party since his selection in February, Martin is a very talented and well informed politician it is a sad loss to our party. In the meantime Murray Shepstone, who was Martin’s appointed agent, will assume this responsibility until the local party members select a replacement candidate”
