Diogo Rodrigues is the Labour candidate for Bridgwater East and Bawdrip and is seeking to oust Tory Grandee David Hall. Diogo is a Town Councillor for Dunwear North and is fighting hard for an important Labour victory with a campaign directed at young and old alike but also the European workers that have contributed so much to our town.
Diogo says “Adult social care is a mess – recent allegations made at town council meeting by a care worker shows the horrid situation that we are in. Bridgwater needs to look after its elderly and I will champion the voice of our caring community. Our young have been wrongly attacked by Tory county council with horrendous cuts to vital youth services. Our young haven’t got a loud enough voice against the uncaring Tory crowd at county, I will champion the voice of our younger community. ”
Labour stands up for ALL working people
Diogo, who was born on the Portuguese island of Madeira but brought up in England has also been reassuring European Union citizens of Labour’s commitment to all workers saying “The Labour Party has always stood up for, and will continue to stand up for, people like you and me. Labour has recently announced that they will ‘Guarantee the legal status of the three million EU nationals living in the UK on its first day in office’. You may not be able to vote at the General Election, but you can vote at this Local Election – so make your voice heard!”
